Securing the ninth position on the magazine’s 2024 roster of top coffee cities, this accolade celebrates the city’s culinary prowess as endorsed by over 180 esteemed food experts.

Copenhagen claimed the top spot in this year’s rankings, with Tokyo and Sydney following closely at number 2 and 3 respectively.
Cape Town made a significant mark at number 9, surpassing Melbourne, another coffee hotspot from the Antipodes. Notably, both Truth.Coffee and Deluxe received special mentions, serving as excellent starting points in a city teeming with exceptional roasters and baristas.
Origin, Rosetta, and Espresso Lab are all worth a visit, as is Nøsh at the Time Out Market Cape Town. Conceptualised by Origin’s co-founder Joel Singer, Nøsh Café offers a distinctive coffee experience, showcasing three of the city’s premier artisan roasters—Origin, Truth, and Tribe—all under one roof.
