Make a day of it and head to the landmark Taal Monument for the annual Proe Paarl Festival, to experience offerings from the delectable Paarl Wine Route.

This Boland town is the third oldest in the country and offers a unique combination of cultural heritage and modern innovation. Paarl has also become known for its award-winning wines and tourism experiences.

The Proe Paarl Festival combines gourmet food and world-class wine with arts, culture and dazzling live music performances. Chill under the trees on the lush lawns with a spread of wine, bubbly, breakfast sliders, Mediterranean pastries, chocolate brownies, cheese and charcuterie platters, olive and sushi platters, oysters, bread baskets, biltong and droëwors.
