At 108 Long Street, you’ll find a quaint ice cream shop that has delighted locals since 2021.
Cape Town Ice Cream Rolls (Caperolls) is not just any ice cream parlour; owners Toudry Wangi and Abel Kipaso offer customers their take on Asian ice cream.

When Wangi discovered how it was made, he was hooked.
‘We believe that ice rolls are an experience and not just ice cream. The process is what makes us unique. Making ice cream while the customer waits is what makes the experience memorable and beautiful. We make our ice cream handmade and we have no limitations when it comes to flavours. That’s the beauty of it.’
Their most popular rolls include ‘Monkey Business’, a roll filled with banana, strawberries, and strawberry sauce among other ingredients, and ‘Kiss and Tell’, a delectable ice cream taco roll with cherries, mint cookies and cherry sauce.
‘Our plans for the future are to grow Caperolls into an established name brand where customers relate to our services by introducing different ways to serve desserts. We will be introducing different styles of desserts every new summer season to keep our customers excited.’
