Guillain-Barré syndrome is a rare autoimmune disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks the nerves. The condition may be triggered by an acute bacterial or viral infection.
With Guillain-Barré syndrome, the immune response damages peripheral nerves (brain and spinal cords) to the limbs and organs. Symptoms start as weakness and tingling in the feet and legs that spread to the upper body, and paralysis can occur.
Aeezhia’s dad, Etienne Love, has to commute back and forth to Vredendal to work and look after Aeezhia’s two siblings. The transport expenses accumulate alongside amassing hospital fees.
Food baskets and snacks would also be greatly appreciated.
Aeezhia’s grandmother spends a lot of time at the hospital to help Aeezhia’s mum to communicate with the medical staff. She wears a hearing aid and sometimes struggles to hear the instructions or information. With granny there, it makes communication easier.
Any form of donation or act of kindness and support would make a world of difference to the Love family.
