A patio, an Airbnb and a KFC Streetwise meal delivered with a big smile. One Platō Green Point boss has turned a consequence of taxi unrest into the kind of workplace moment TikTok cannot stop replaying.
The clip that stopped the scroll
A Platō Green Point employee shared a TikTok showing colleagues seated on an Airbnb patio. The boss had booked the accommodation for the team because of the taxi strikes. Then the meals arrived. The boss walks in with KFC Streetwise packs and hands them out with real cheer, as if the team had just won something.

A strike, a stay and a shared meal
The clip surfaced as shootings linked to route disputes between rival taxi associations have left many Cape Town commuters fearing for their safety. Employees who rely on minibus taxis, a strike turns the trip home into a question mark. A boss who answers that question first gives the team one less worry. Staff shortages at Cape Town International Airport left passengers facing hour-long delays on Friday, as employees struggled to get to work amid the taxi violence.
