The maintenance commenced today and will continue until Sunday, 30 June, from 8am to 5pm and from 7:30pm until 5:30am on weekdays only.
Park Road, as well as the construction of a left-turn lane where the road intersects with Campground Road, will be resurfaced.
The section that runs past Rustenburg Girls High on the median and southbound carriageway of Park Road will also form part of the maintenance, with kerb and paving work.
The entire roadwork project is part of the City’s regular maintenance to ‘prolong the longevity of its road network’.
‘The addition of a left-turn lane will lead to improved traffic flow and alleviate congestion in this area particularly during parents’ school-run hours,’ said Councillor Rob Quintas, MMC for Urban Mobility.
‘We would like to thank road users for their patience in this infrastructure-led project to improve the road network. Residents can expect a level of dust and noise during the course of the work,’ Quintas added.
