On Thursday, 30 May, the water supply to Gull Road in Southfield will be turned off from 8am to 6pm. This outage is necessary to complete construction on the main water supply safely. The maintenance team will connect a new water pipeline on Gull Road to existing pipelines on Gull Road, Princess Vlei Road, and Tegul Road.
As a result, water supply along these roads and nearby areas will be disrupted throughout the day. This work is part of a proactive infrastructure maintenance and upgrade programme aimed at ensuring future water supply reliability and reducing unaccounted-for water.
On Tuesday, 28 May, from 10am to 5pm, water supply will be disrupted in Gordon’s Bay along Suikerbossie Street and Protea Street. The interruption will enable the installation of a metre and a pressure reducing valve (PRV) on the main water supply line.

The main water supply in Montclair, Somerset West, will be disrupted on Thursday, 30 May from 10am. to 5pm. for the installation of a metre and a PRV.
‘The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused,’ said the City of Cape Town.
The City has carefully planned this work to minimise disruption. All sites where water and sanitation repairs and upgrades are being performed are designated as construction sites and are closed to the public.
Maintenance work can sometimes be more complex than expected, which can lengthen the time it takes. When the water supply is restored, it may appear discoloured or milky due to trapped air in the pipes. Residents should let the water stand in a glass until it clears to normal.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed and make any necessary preparations to mitigate the effects of these temporary outages.
