The City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Directorate has advised that additional areas have been added to the list of identified areas to undergo planned work on its water supply infrastructure this week.
Residents within the additional affected areas are advised that water supplies may be disrupted and are encouraged to plan ahead for alternative water supply arrangements during this time.

The following areas will be affected:
Maintenance work: pipe and valve installations, repairs and replacements:
Oakglen, Bellair, Vredenburg, Blomtuin, Blommendal and La Rochelle
- Thursday, 16 November, from 8:30pm until 4am on Friday, 17 November
The water supply network to these areas will be shut off to enable the directorate’s maintenance team to do a tie-in on the main water supply, which will boost the water pressure.
Residents are requested to store enough water in advance for domestic consumption.
Constantia Wine Estates – Groot and Klein Constantia
- Thursday, 16 November, from 10am to 4pm.
The water supply to this area will be shut off to enable the maintenance team to do a tie-in of a water metre on the 300-mm-diameter water supply main.

Paarden Eiland, Lower Woodstock (Beach Road to Porter Road), Transnet, Waterfront and Foreshore
- Wednesday, 15 November, from 10pm to 11pm
A test water shut-off will be conducted on the water supply to these areas to ascertain the efficacy of the process for a full shut-off.
- Saturday, 18 November, from 10am to midnight on Sunday, 19 November
The full extended shut-off will be done to enable the maintenance team to do urgent repairs to a severe leak on the 915-mm-diameter bulk water pipeline in Paarden Eiland.
Alternate water supplies will be rerouted to minimise the extent of the impact.
SA Navy, Old Harbour, Gordonia Road, Faure Marine Drive and Bikini Beach (Gordon’s Bay)
- Thursday, 16 November, from 8am to 4pm
The water supply to these areas will be shut off to enable the maintenance team to do repairs to a leak in the main water supply.
A water tanker will be parked in the harbour to provide water for domestic consumption if required.
