Archbishop Desmond Tutu has some inspirational words of wisdom for the Springbok Rugby team ahead of the World Cup finals.

In a statement, the Archbishop joined the nation in celebrating the rugby team, lead by Captain Siya Kolisi, in their performance in the sports competition thus far. He also thanks the team for representing the country so well.

“Captain of the nation, Siya Kolisi, ou Rassie, Chessie, en al die manne: Siyabulela! Ngiyabonga! Thank you!” the statement reads.

Your dignity, diversity and courage are infectious. You have restored South African rugby’s pride, and made us all feel good about ourselves. A World Cup Final is a highly pressured environment, but if you feel weightless when you run onto that Yokohama field on Saturday it will be because you are being carried by the love, respect and prayers of 56-million of us at home.

You have already won!

God bless you.

Love

Archbishop Desmond Tutu

The Boks will play against England in the 2019 Rugby World Cup finals tomorrow, November 2. If they win, it will be the third time our country will take home the top prize.

Good luck, guys! Bring it home!
