On Thursday morning, December 9, six vehicles were broken into at the Lion’s Head parking lot while owners were out enjoying a lovely hike. Parkscape has urged all hikers to not leave any items in their cars or boot at any time or anywhere.
“People think that leaving items in the boot is safe but do not believe it! Especially if it’s a hatchback. This applies anywhere in the world not only in South Africa”, says Camps Bay CPF.
Andie Davies from the Friends of Table Mountain group has confirmed that a follow-up will be done with SANParks. “For now the only thing we can suggest is, do not leave valuables in your car and leave your glove compartment open (so the criminals can see nothing is in there).”
