Although not as low as initially predicted, motorists will still receive some relief at the pumps from Wednesday, 1 November 2023.
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) has announced that both grades of petrol will decrease by R1.78 per litre, and diesel will decrease by 82 cents for 50ppm and 85 cents per litre for 500ppm.
Consumers will pay 97 cents less for illuminating paraffin, while LP gas will increase by R1.49 per kilogramme.

According to data shared by the Central Energy Fund, motorists were expecting to pay R2 less per litre of petrol and R2.73 per litre of diesel.
The price of fuel is usually adjusted on the first Wednesday of each month based on the price of oil and the rand-dollar exchange rate. The strengthening of the rand and the drop in oil prices are the main contributing factors to the decreased cost of fuel.
