The Blitzboks have been knocked out of the Cup competition at the HSBC SVNS in Cape Town after losing 28-0 to Australia in the third quarter-final.

The last time South Africa won in Cape Town was in 2015, which was also the first time the tournament was held in the City.
The Blitzboks held a great defensive effort during the first half, even when they played with six men after Quewin Nortje was yellow-carded.
However, Australia scored two converted tries before the break, leading 14-0. As per SA Rugby, the Blitzboks had hardly any meaningful possession.

Australia scored 21-0 less than a minute into the second half when South Africa gave up the ball on a counterattack, leaving them just five minutes to rally.
Despite their effort, Australia scored a fourth try, causing the Blitzboks to crash out of the Cup competition.
