The body of missing Glee actress Naya Rivera has been found in Lake Piru, California where she went missing five days ago.
Rivera rented a boat on Wednesday, July 8 for a trip with her son but the boy was later found on the boat alone.
According to recounts of the incident from her son, Rivera put him safely on the boat before disappearing into the water. Police say she managed to muster enough energy to ensure her son was safe but could not save herself.
Authorities identified Rivera’s body on Monday, July 13 and the search was brought to a close.
Police believe Rivera drowned accidentally and that her body became trapped in vegetation under water which prevented it from being seen for several days, until it floated to the surface of the lake.
Her fellow cast members from Glee visited Lake Piru where she went missing to pay their respects.
