A nine-year-old boy and two men sustained injuries after a gang-related shooting on Friday.
Suspects opened fire on the trio at Radnor Road and Robert Sobukwe Drive in Parow, News24 reports.
‘Circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation. The motive for this incident is suspected to be gang-related,’ said Van Wyk.
However, according to TimesLive, the incident was specifically targeted at the Sexy Boys gang, with the son of alleged gang leader Jerome ‘Donkie’ Booysen being the youngest victim.
This report further states that Western Cape police spokesperson Capt Frederick van Wyk confirmed the incident, saying that Ravensmead police registered a triple attempted murder case and that ‘the anti-gang unit have been assigned to probe the matter’.
