A violent protest has resulted in New Eisleben Road, between Govan Mbeki and the Sheffield Road Metro Police station, being closed off this morning.
According to City of Cape Town spokesperson Richard Coleman, one Golden Arrow bus was torched along with a city-owned truck. One Fidelity Security vehicle was also set alight. No injuries have been reported following the incident.
It is unclear at this moment why the protest broke out.
