Lloyd Harris, the 22-year-old Capetonian tennis player is making waves in Australia and is on his way to the semi-finals at the Adelaide International tournament. He scooped up top spot on Thursday morning with a straight-set victory over world number 30 Pablo Carreño Busta from Spain.

The sportsman is up for a clash against American Tommy Paul, but says he’s ready. “He is obviously a great player and he has been playing really well this week, but I will just stay focused and stick to my game,” Harris told The South African.

Harris started the Adelaide International campaign ranked 99th in the ATP singles rankings, but now sits at number 91 in the latest rankings released. “I am extremely pleased. I feel like I have played some incredible tennis up until this point, taking out a couple of quality opponents. I feel like I am playing the game I always wanted to play and I’m looking to keep improving on that,” Harris said.

The best of luck, Lloyd!
