The Cape Town International Airport has been awarded the top spot as Africa’s Leading Airport at the World Tourism Awards – another prestigious accolade for the seventh consecutive year.

According to TimesLIVE, the award recognises the hard work and dedication of Airports Company South Africa (Acsa) and its stakeholders and partners.

‘We trust being named Africa’s Leading Airport for an unprecedented seventh time in a row will provide visitors to Cape Town International Airport with a sense of comfort and assurance they will receive a warm welcome and have a good and memorable experience at our airport,’ says Mark Maclean, regional GM at the airport.
As a whole, South Africa bagged 24 awards during the ceremony, including top destination awards for Durban as the continent’s Leading Festival and Event Destination, and Cape Town for the Leading City Destination award.
