The City of Cape Town (COCT) has indicated that the Miss South Africa grand finale will be taking place in Cape Town for a second consecutive year, with the winner being crowned at the Grand West Arena in October.
The COCT successfully hosted the grand event last year, demonstrating Cape Town’s capabilities of hosting safe and incident-free events. According to Executive Mayor, Dan Plato, it is a real privilege for the COCT to be welcoming Miss South Africa back after hosting the 62nd edition last year.
“Miss South Africa is an iconic South African event that has over the years made the dreams of many young women a reality and helped them to draw attention to important issues in our society,” Plato said.
Plato says looking at this current cohort of Miss South Africa candidates, he firmly believes these young women are future leaders.
“Among the top 10, we have doctors, lawyers, women in construction and future leaders in the fashion industry,” he added.
Meanwhile, this year’s Miss SA top 10 finalists are Bianca Bezuidenhout (Cape Town), Catherine Groenewald (Cape Town), Cheneil Hartzenberg (Johannesburg), Jeanni Mulder (Cape Town), Kaylan Matthews (Gqeberha), Kgothatso Dithebe (Tshwane), Lalela Mswane (KwaSokhulu), Moratwe Masima (Johannesburg), Tiffany Francis (Johannesburg) and Zimi Mabunzi (eQonce).
