A Cape Town man was subjected to a traumatic hijacking ordeal and subsequently treated for multiple head injuries after being stuffed into the boot of his car.
On Thursday at approximately 7:30pm, a silver VW Polo was reported hijacked in the Kuyasa area of Khayelitsha. The driver was kidnapped during the incident.
Police spokesperson FC Van Wyk shared the details of what followed. At around 7:50pm, the hijackers utilised the stolen vehicle to commit a house robbery at a residence in Makhaza.
During this robbery, the criminals made off with valuable items, including three plasma televisions, cellphones and a white Toyota Yaris.

Members of the Harare car-jacking team sprang into action and managed to track the location of the stolen vehicle through its GPS tracker.
The trail led them to Enkanini, where they were able to apprehend two suspects in connection with the crime. Additionally, they successfully recovered both vehicles, the stolen phones, the televisions and an unlicensed firearm found at the scene.
They also discovered the hijacked driver bound and injured in the trunk of the VW Polo. The suspects had subjected him to physical assault during his captivity.
Concerned for his well-being, the man was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment due to the multiple injuries he had sustained to his head.
