Muizenberg police are appealing to the community for assistance following the discovery of the body of a newborn baby boy dumped in a refuse bin in Capricorn last week Thursday.

A group of homeless people were rummaging through the refuse bins on Harmony Road when they discovered the body of the newborn between the litter, reported police spokesperson Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi.
Medical personnel pronounced the newborn dead at the scene.
Muizenberg police registered an inquest for further investigation.
