The Mother City is a welcoming and loving city, so much so that love is made here, resulting in the city welcoming the most tiny residents in the world.
According to research done by the DC Jewellery’s Cities of Love 2022, Cape Town topped the list when it comes to the baby-making cities in the world with 20 births per 1,000 people. The Mother City is followed by Instabul and Sydney.
The research uses the data collected in 2019 taking into account Instagram posts, Google searches, World Bank data and The William’s Institute’s Gay Acceptance Index to create a combined score to reveal which cities are the best for loved-up couples to visit, as per TimesLive.
“The residents of Cape Town certainly aren’t afraid of getting intimate, with the highest birth rate of all the cities on our list of 20 per 1000 people. Hopefully, we don’t have to explain to you what birth rates have to do with how loving a city is!” they said.
While Paris, Toronto and Vancouve are leading cities for the most romantic engagement hotspots, Amsterdam is ranked as the number one city with the happiest LGBTQI+ residents in the world.
“The Dutch capital has a proud history of supporting LGBTQ+ rights, decriminalising homosexuality as far back as 1811! So it’s to be expected that it takes the top spot for this factor, very nearly scoring full marks with 9.46 out of 10,” they said.
