Long Street is set to receive a new 24-storey skyrise courtesy of property developer Abland along with joint-venture partners The Ellerine Brothers.
The building, comprising of 13,446m² of premium-grade office space, 323m² retail space on its ground floor, a penthouse on the top floor and nine above-ground parking levels, is set for completion in the first quarter of 2020. Construction began this month.
Located on the corner of Lower Long Street and Jetty Street, 35 Lower Long is one of several new high-rise developments currently under construction in central Cape Town – all playing a part in changing the city’s skyline.
James Cresswell, Cape regional director at Abland, says “We believe that the location is perfect, not only is the property next to the MyCiti bus station, it is within close proximity to the main train station – making it easily accessible to individuals commuting via public transport. Motorists also have easy access to the N1, N2 and the Western Seaboard. In addition, the building is located in the popular foreshore precinct close to the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Amenities such as hotels, restaurants and bars surround the building making this a very popular precinct.”
35 Lower Long’s design has been carefully considered, with an unusual sculpted form as to best maximize views of the surrounding city.
