A Wilderness Search and Rescue (WSAR) team leapt into action after a local woman fell while hiking on Table Mountain on Monday evening.

According to WSAR’s report, the 37-year-old woman fell above the Africa Crag route but was saved by her safety rope.
She was, however, immobilised where she landed as a result of injuries to her leg.
A large technical WSAR team reached the top of Table Mountain via the cableway, where they managed to haul the woman to safety using rescue ropes.
Shortly before midnight, she was brought to safety and taken to a nearby hospital for medical assistance.
