Talented ballroom and Latin dance couple Riana Jacobs and Morgan Achmat gear up to represent South Africa at the World Championships in Germany. The duo, hailing from the Cape Flats, are not only pursuing their own dreams but also inspiring young individuals.
Riana Jacobs, 19, and Morgan Achmat, 18, have been dancing together since 2019, showcasing their exceptional talent and dedication.
Their journey from the neighbourhoods of Bishop Lavis and Manenberg, known for their association with gangsterism, has instilled in them a fierce determination to transcend their origins and prove that dreams and untapped potential exist even in the most challenging areas.
Having secured multiple championship titles, including a victory at the 2022 South African Championships, Riana and Morgan earned the honour of representing South Africa on the global stage in Germany on 9 December, 2023.
Both Riana and Morgan firmly believe in their role as exemplary role models for future generations. Through their achievements, they aim to inspire young people to pursue their deepest desires and defy the limitations imposed by circumstances.

While preparing for the World Championships, Riana continues her studies in nursing, and Morgan pursues his degree in business management and marketing.
To turn their dreams into reality, Riana and Morgan are in need of financial assistance. They are organising fundraisers, including the upcoming event ‘FEEL THE BEAT’ on 12 August at Silverstream Primary School. This family-friendly event will feature captivating ballroom and Latin showdances, along with various other performances.
