Andre Braugher, an Emmy-award-winning actor renowned for his roles in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Homicide: Life on the Street, Men of a Certain Age, and Glory, has passed away at 61, as confirmed by his agents.
The American actor died on 11 December following a brief illness.

Throughout his career, Braugher portrayed police officers in both dramatic and comedic capacities.
Notably, he gained acclaim for his roles as Detective Frank Pembleton in the police drama series Homicide: Life on the Street and his portrayal of Captain Raymond Holt on the Fox-NBC sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine, spanning from 2013 to 2021.
In the 1989 film Glory, Braugher portrayed a Union soldier joining an all-African American regiment, contributing to the movie’s success, which included a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his co-star Denzel Washington.
