South Africa’s darling, Benoni-born Charlize Theron has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the movie Bombshell.

The movie tells the true story of Fox News host Megyn Kelly, portraying exploitation in the work place and also stars  Nicole Kidman and John Lithgow.

Other Oscar nominees for Best Actress are Cynthia Erivo for Harriet, Saoirse Ronan for Little Women, Scarlett Johansson for Marriage Story and Renee Zellweger for Judy.

Theron has already scooped one Oscar for Best Actress in the movie Monster in 2004, and was nominated again in 2006 for North Country.

The ceremony will be held on February 9. Good luck, Charlize!
