The latest traffic fine roadshow comes just ahead of the Easter weekend, allowing motorists to clear any outstanding fines or warrants, in a central location, and eliminate the risk of a run-in at a roadblock.
The Traffic Service’s roadshows have become incredibly popular. During the last instalment in December 2023, just over 2 000 clients were assisted in finalising 16 923 fines and 5 150 warrants.
The total payments, after representations, amounted to just over R4,6 million.

This month, the roadshow will return to the Cape Town Civic Centre for three days – Monday, 25 March 2024 until Wednesday, 27 March 2024.
The public is reminded that the following services will be available:
- All fine-related enquiries for vehicles registered in their name
- Applying for a reduction in traffic fines issued within the City of Cape Town’s municipal boundaries
- Paying outstanding fines
- Enquiring about warrants and/or summons issued in their name and finalising these
- Removing administration marks against their name on the Natis system
As has become custom, the event will start from 8:30am daily, but operating times could be amended depending on operational requirements.
‘We have been meeting the motoring public halfway, with very positive results and so I encourage those with outstanding fines and warrants to exploit this latest opportunity. It’s a good-faith gesture as we head into the busy Easter weekend and a reminder that there will be increased roadblocks and operations to trace scofflaws.
‘So do the right thing and settle any overdue fines or warrants, either by visiting the roadshow or using the existing channels available. The alternative is to risk time behind bars should you be caught at a roadblock or vehicle checkpoint, or worse … tracked down by our tracing teams,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith.
