It looks like Cape Town is in for another wet, cold weekend.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued a weather warning earlier this week, alerting locals to prepare for gale-force winds and a series of cold fronts to hit the Cape.

“Cold front arrives around midnight. Rain expected earlier from 8.30pm onwards this evening in the Cape Town area,” SAWS said via Twitter.

As of June 24, the Mother City’s dam levels officially stood at 50.2% with all dams being bolstered by the bountiful showers.

Following last night’s rains, dam levels now stand at 51.5% – and increase of 1.3% in just four days.

More showers are expected to fall this evening, as well as on Sunday.
