Motorists are urged to be patient as rescue personnel and traffic officials clear an accident, which claimed the lives of 8 people near Napier.
Little information is available at this time, but according to Traffic Chief Kenny Africa, 8 people were killed in a head-on collision outside the town of Napier on the R316.
Among the deceased were four women and four men. Details around the accident are unclear. Traffic backed up substantially on the highway when roads in both directions were closed.
Africa asked travelers heading in that direction to be patient, or use alternative routes.
