Eskom has announced more load shedding due to a severe strain on the power system. Load shedding can be expected on Thursday, August 20 from 9am until 10pm.

“While Eskom teams have today and yesterday successfully returned three generation units to service, a further three units three, with two back to service,” the public enterprise said.

They also warned that as the generation structure is “unreliable and volatile”, the constraints on the power system is likely to last for the rest of the week.
