Structure protection and fire suppression are the top priorities for efforts in Bainskloof and Slanghoek. Bainskloof Pass and Slanghoek Road are still open, but they may close unexpectedly.
In Elandsberg, favourable winds have aided firefighting, with aerial support playing a key role in protecting structures.
Fairy Glen, Worcester (Day 2)

Area burned: Approximately 2 000 hectares
Firefighters have made significant progress in Fairy Glen, preventing the fire from reaching the Bluegum plantation.
Active firefighting will continue throughout the night.

Total personnel: 158 (excluding administrative staff)
CWDM Fire Services, NCC ground crews, Leading Edge Aviation and personnel from the West Coast District, Swartland, Breede Valley, Drakenstein and Witzenberg are working in collaboration.
Support also comes from CapeNature, Volunteer WildFire Services, Working on Fire, the Department of Fisheries, Forests and Environment, the Provincial Disaster Management Centre and the Fire Protection Association.
These combined efforts form an integrated control point (ICP), coordinating the extensive response to these challenging fires.
Teams are prepared for continued firefighting efforts throughout the night.
