A section of Nelson Mandela Boulevard in George has been closed following a major collision involving five vehicles and a truck on Tuesday evening, 29 September.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Merriman Street and Nelson Mandela Boulevard, with motorists being advised to avoid the affected section while emergency and traffic services attend to the scene.
The George Municipality shared the public notice issued by George Municipality at 19:49, confirming the closure and the number of vehicles involved.
At this stage, no information has been provided on the number or severity of injuries, nor has the cause of the collision been confirmed.
Motorists travelling through the area should allow for possible delays and use alternative routes where possible while the scene is being managed.
