In the midst of heavy flooding, a team of inspectors from the Cape of Good Hope SPCA collaborated with City law enforcement officials and rescue services to assist abandoned animals. As families evacuated to safety, many animals were inadvertently left behind.
Facing freezing cold conditions, the SPCA officials waded through the rising waters, determined to rescue stranded pets and other stray animals.

The SPCA extended its gratitude to the City of Cape Town’s law enforcement and all collaborating rescue services who united their efforts to save several horses, carefully moving them to higher grounds.
Numerous cats and dogs were reportedly retrieved from the waters.
Today, rescue teams are back on the frontlines, ready to save even more lives.
