First Thursday always draws in the crowds, but this week brought unexpected guests in the form of Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis, Premier Alan Winde and the whole City of Cape Town crew. The occasion? A catch-up with the locals.

For the majority of visual artists from previously disadvantaged areas, finding space to display their work proves to be difficult and they often struggle to establish networking and business opportunities. The City is creating this space to help upcoming artists take their careers in art to the next level and to enhance our efforts in building an inclusive city where we celebrate and nurture talents from across the city.
