On Saturday, the Hawks arrested a woman in George, Western Cape, following a tip-off about the suspected trafficking of three women from West Africa to South Africa in a shipping container.

The Hawks, acting on information received on Wednesday, conducted a raid on a residential complex in George where the women, believed to have fake passports and advertised on an escort website, were allegedly being held.
Four females, aged 21 to 47, were rescued and placed in a safe location after a medical assessment.
The arrested woman, identified as the caretaker, will face human trafficking charges in the George magistrate’s court today.
