A group of ten armed and masked suspects stormed a residence on Rokeby Road, Crawford, shortly before 21:15 on Wednesday, resulting in a violent confrontation that left one suspect dead and another wounded, Cape {town} Etc reports.
According to police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg, the robbery unfolded when the suspects entered the home, brandishing firearms and demanding cash from the occupants.
Reports indicate that the victims were tied up during the ordeal as the suspects searched for valuables.
Amid the chaos, shots were fired. One of the suspects was fatally shot at the scene, while another was injured and subsequently apprehended after being transported to a local hospital, where he is currently held under police guard.
The Lansdowne police have since registered a case of house robbery and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this brazen attack.
He also urged anyone with additional information to step forward, stating that such contributions are crucial in preventing similar incidents in the future.
