Earlier today, Lansdowne police responded to a domestic dispute in Penlyn Estate, where a husband held his family hostage.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed to Cape {town} Etc that the incident occurred in Eastview Street.
The 51-year-old husband was arrested on a charge of attempted murder. No further details are available at this stage. His 52-year-old wife and their granddaughter were rescued and taken to a medical facility for medical treatment.
The husband will appear in the Wynberg Magistrates’ Court once charged.
