The South African Police Service (SAPS) conducted a search at a Middelpos premises in Saldanha Bay, on Wednesday, 17 April, as part of their search for missing six-year-old Joshlin Smith.
Joshlin has been missing for two months after disappearing from her family home in Middelpos on 19 February, as reported by Eyewitness News (EWN).

Kelly Smith, Joshlin’s mother, Jacquin Appolis, Kelly’s boyfriend, Stevano van Rhyn and Lourencia Lombaard have been arrested and charged with kidnapping and human trafficking related to Joshlin’s disappearance.
They are expected to appear in the Vredenburg Magistrate’s Court on 13 May, according to IOL.
Public order policing was deployed to ‘protect the outer perimeter of the town’, according to Malcolm Pojie, police spokesperson.
An investigation team searched a premises in the area after they received a lead about the possible whereabouts of Joshlin, Pojie added.
Precautions were taken by police, due to the ‘volatile situation in the town’ related to Joshlin’s disappearance.
The search yielded no results, but Pojie stated that the investigating team would continue pursuing all leads to trace Joshlin.
