Get those candles ready because Stage 2 loadshedding has just been announced at the last minute.
Eskom recently announced the late notice news in the form of an urgent notice, stating that: “Unit 5 of Medupi Power Station has just tripped, taking some 700MW capacity with. Regretfully, Stage 2 loadshedding has been implemented immediately. A full statement will be published in due course.”
Before this, the power utility company noted a warning that its power system is under severe pressure, and advised people to switch off unnecessary energy zappers.
Meanwhile, the City of Cape Town has urged residents to remain patient as routine maintenance is set to take place on our electrical infrastructure until Sunday.
