Eskom’s latest power alert announces that loadshedding will be suspended from midnight until 4pm on Monday afternoon. However, before we get there, the country can expect the implementation of stage 4 loadshedding from 4pm today until midnight.
Thereafter, loadshedding will be reduced to stage 3 from 4pm until midnight on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
This comes as a result of continued improvement in available generation capacity due to three units previously on outage being returned to service.

Cape Town-based app EskomSePush’s notification says loadshedding will be suspended from midnight until 4pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, however, this is not definitively stated in Eskom’s power alert – but we hope, nonetheless.
The power utility stated another update would be published should any significant changes occur.

Breakdowns currently stand at 16 115MW of generating capacity while the generating capacity out of service for planned maintenance is 3 766MW.
Over the past 24 hours, a generating unit each at Arnot and Kendal power stations were returned to service.
In the same period, a generation unit each at Kriel and Hendrina power stations were taken out of service due to breakdowns. The further delays in returning to service a generating unit at Grootvlei, Hendrina, Majuba and Tutuka power stations are contributing to the current capacity constraints.
