This comes after breakdowns have increased to 15 388 MW of generating capacity, with 7 169 MW of generating capacity out of service for planned maintenance.
Two generation units at Lethabo and Medupi power stations were returned to service in the last 24 hours, but a generating unit each at Hendrina and Matimba, as well as two units at Matla, were taken offline for repairs.
Meanwhile, units at Camden, Kriel, and Tutuka power stations were delayed in returning to service.
The full schedule is as follows:
Stage 3 loadshedding will occur from 5am until 4pm on Saturday, followed by stage 4 loadshedding until 5am on Sunday. At 5am on Sunday, stage 2 loadshedding will be implemented until 3pm. Then stage 3 loadshedding will be implemented from 4pm on Sunday until 4pm on Monday, Eskom said.
