Terrifying footage of a woman fighting against two assailants who robbed her in broad daylight in Muizenberg on Saturday morning has gone viral on social media.
BOSBEER/Cape Town, a Twitter account aimed at informing locals on incidents of crime in the city, has shared the footage alerting members of the public to be cautious of the vehicle involved in the robbery.
The footage showcases a woman walking with her handbag, with what appears to be her cellphone in her hand, when a silver Mercedes stops and two men exit the vehicle.
Both men attack the woman, with one of the assailants grabbing her handbag and fleeing back to the vehicle while the other tussles with the victim for her cellphone.
The victim fights back and there is a struggle as the attacker attempts to grab her cellphone, which was dropped in the struggle and subsequently grabbed by the attacker. The attacker then flees back to the vehicle.
Desperate to get her belongings back she runs after the vehicle, opening the back door as it speeds away, but is unsuccessful.
