On Sunday, reports surfaced of ‘protest action’ on the N1 near Kraaifontein in the Cape after trucks blocked both lanes.
According to TimesLive, 15 people were arrested in connection with the incident, while Western Cape police spokesperson Sgt Wesley Twigg said that Public Order Police and law enforcement agencies were at the scene, and would continue to monitor the situation.
The suspects who were arrested face charges of public violence, News24 adds. It was not said what led to the alleged ‘protest action’ taking place.
Updates to follow.
