In an effort to combat crime, various services were deployed to the Parow area on Friday, 28 April 2023, for a multi-disciplinary operation.
The operation included the use of undercover officers in plainclothes, unmarked Ghost Squad vehicles on patrol, and a significant number of uniformed officers and marked vehicles across the suburb. A drone unit was deployed to provide oversight visuals back to the joint operational command centre.

Throughout the evening, radio traffic was active with reports of numerous successes. As a result of the operation, 953 fines were issued for a range of offences, including five arrests by traffic services, one for driving under the influence and the impounding of five taxis.
A vehicle check point was held on Military Road.
A crime-free operation was conducted in the City Bowl area.
A male was arrested in the area and detained at Cape Town Central SAPS on a charge of common robbery.
The operation included the participation of neighbourhood watches, improvement districts, and private security companies.
A total of 61 unlicensed motor vehicles were documented, and 13 unlicensed drivers were identified. Notices to appear in court were issued to 52 individuals, and another 64 fines were issued to vehicles in the area.
Alderman JP Smith, mayoral committee member for safety and security said that these focused integrated operations will continue throughout Cape Town with the participation of all role players.
