A residential building above popular record store Revolution Records in Observatory has caught alight and is currently burning.
Residents captured these images of the popular location. Details on what caused the fire are currently unknown.
According to Jermaine Carelse, spokesperson for the City’s Fire & Rescue Service, firefighter vehicles were dispatched at 4.33pm. Six firefighting appliances, an aerial appliance and a Rescue vehicle are currently on the scene.
There are no injuries at this stage.
Update: the fire was estinguied at 6.43pm.
