Jack Sparrow was found in a field alone, suffering from a traumatic injury that left him sightless in one eye and in excruciating pain. He was rushed to the SPCA’s Horse Care Unit.

Despite the SPCA’s best efforts, Jack Sparrow’s injured eye could not be saved. The severity of the injury and the prolonged period without treatment necessitated urgent surgery to relieve him of his suffering.

It was during this time that Jack Sparrow earned his fitting pirate name. His courage, spirit and resourcefulness shone through as he adapted quickly to life with only one eye.
Jack Sparrow’s recovery journey was not without its challenges. Alongside post-operative veterinary care, he received specialised attention from equine dentists and farriers to ensure his overall well-being.
The SPCA’s commitment to Jack Sparrow’s care extended beyond medical treatment, providing him with a comfortable stable, grooming and a nutritious diet.
Today, Jack Sparrow has found his forever home, thanks to the dedication of the SPCA and the kindness of Justine and her family.
