Nosipho Sopuwa was shot and killed while doing her laundry at her home on Brown’s Farm last Sunday. She was the second CPF member to be killed in a short time, following that of Gugulethu CPF deputy chairperson, Lulama Dinginto, who was gunned down at her home in December.
According to EWN, Minister Cele visited the area and promised to deploy police members in Brown’s Farm to address the increase in crime. ‘This one should be a crime intelligence-driven situation,’ says Nyanga CPF’s Dumisani Qwebe.
‘We are appealing that we should be immediately attended to, we can’t have more lives lost especially the crime fighters.’
Qwebe adds that several CPF members have pulled out of the forum in fear of being killed.
