Following a serious accident on the N2 highway near Keurbooms on Wednesday, authorities in Plettenberg Bay have opened a Reckless and Negligent Driving docket.

The SUV driver failed to use the indicator in time, according to the Intercape bus driver, while attempting to turn into Alkantmooi resort.
As a result, the bus swerved and collided with the rigged heavy motor vehicle travelling east to west.
SPI alerted Bravo Control after the incident caused significant traffic congestion in both directions.

The Intercape bus was carrying 52 passengers, 30 of whom were injured and taken to the hospital for observation.
One passenger in the rigged heavy vehicle suffered suspected broken legs and was taken to Plettenberg Bay Life Hospital.
According to reports from the Knysna-Plett Herald, none of the passengers in the SUV were hurt.
Those involved in the response to the accident included Med Life, Plettenberg Bay Fire, Plettenberg Bay SAPS, Knysna Provincial Traffic, Bitou Traffic, Sandalwood, and Bitou law enforcement.
