‘Huge police raid at the house of sangoma, Police are all over the place, ’Mckenzie stated on his Facebook page yesterday.
‘Unconfirmed reports state that someone has already been arrested, a lady. Will update as soon as we get more information,’ he continued.
According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie, no new arrests have been made and no raids were conducted in the town where six-year-old Joshlin Smith went missing more than 70 days ago.
‘The investigation is still ongoing, and the possibility of other suspects being arrested as the investigation unfolds cannot be ruled out,’ he confirmed to News24.
Joshlin’s mother, Racquel ‘Kelly’ Smith is due to appear in the Vredenburg Magistrates’ Court on Monday alongside her boyfriend Jacquin Appolis, and two others, Steveno van Rhyn and Lourencia Lombaard, on charges of kidnapping and human trafficking.
Lombaard reportedly made a ‘full confession’, although the details have not been made public yet.
