Protesters in Cape Town accosted the king and queen of the Netherlands during their visit to the Iziko Slave Lodge earlier today.

A group of angry protesters wearing traditional animal-skin dress approached King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima as they were leaving the building in central Cape Town.
The group reportedly shouted slogans about Dutch colonizers stealing land from their ancestors, according to the Associated Press.
The couple was swiftly led by security personnel to a car and driven away while police took over the scene.
As per EWN, the king and queen are in South Africa to speak with judges, activists and artists about legal equality and accessible justice, particularly focusing on protecting women’s and LGBTQ+ rights.
